This holiday season how about giving the gift of SEO?
Why not link to your favorite cause with targeted keywords in the anchor text? It’s the gift that keeps on giving, and of course it looks great under the tree.
Here’s my list Google Santa:

Hey, that’s a really great idea. Very thoughtful and for a good cause. I’ll follow suite tonight.
I am working with several local organizations on a similar project. So far, the non profits I have targeted don’t even have a web site yet. I hope to offer my web building abilities and some SEO to local organizations that could use the exposure through 2008.
I have a saying of my own. No good deed goes unappreciated. I feel it is the least I can do. All I need now is a little extra free time. I am working that into 2008 also.
Thanks Josh.
Terry, feel free to list your favorite local orgs in the comments here. Make sure you include their city & state.
As posed in my Sphinn Comment: Something many SEOs don’t take advantage of is writing off their own time for taxes. I give a bit of free SEO consulting to a charity or non-profit site every year and then write it off at $100 an hour. The non-profit wins with free SEO consulting, and I win with a break come tax time. I’d rather my tax money go toward reimbursing people for helping charities than fighting wars for corrupt corporate governments. …I digress.
Good point Everett. Remember to check with your accountant!
Hey, Andrew. Let’s see if we can get something started here.
thanks for idea.
the translation is at my blog
Thanks, for the insperation… I will be contacting a local non-profit business association tomorrow about running a SEO contest… The prize being free SEO services for a non-profit website. I am glad to seee others doing it as well! We are real big believers in community support. Our services rendered freely can often produce greater results than merely writting a check.
I have put up posting for both my professional SEO blog and my personal blog by Chris Estes. With links to different charities. This is a great idea.
Great idea actualy! Why not help others in SEO efforts for Christmas I will join you and I will post some links to my fav websites.
