I am in the camp that the yellow pages are dead. Mr Larkin makes a comparison of how everyone thought ball point pend would obsolete pencils — and it didn’t> I would assert that comparing the Internet to the yellow pages is more akin to comparing the car did to the horse and buggy.

Sure, yellow pages still thrives in rural America where not everyone has a IPhone or Blackberry. Little competition from Internet local search in those areas. Publishers in urban/suburban areas are doomed.
