John Cole, Director of SEO at AT&T Interactive, is looking for a SEO Associate Product Manager and it looks like a great position for someone looking to take their SEO game to the next level. SEO is a key driver for AT&T’s online properties so this is a big role. Here’s the description. If you think you are a fit, ping me and I’ll forward you on to John:

YP.com – AT&T Interactive
Location: Glendale, CA

No brainer. A site that is a Search Engine for local business listings and gets 20-30 million monthly visitors; wants to appear higher in Google and Bing’s organic listings needs someone who can assist their SEO efforts. The difference here is the opportunity. You’ll have an unparalleled opportunity to increase your SEO knowledge & experience working on a site with millions of pages and working under a veteran SEO who has brought millions of visitors to some of the top internet brands. We have one of the largest collections of business data on the web with data on more than 15 million businesses across the country. We just need your help to manage projects through to execution so we can move our pages higher on the SERPs.

Are you burned out on startups that don’t get second round funding? Maybe you’re at a great company – but feel stuck as they aren’t willing to try new things or are mired in politics? Whatever it is – I certainly think you need to ‘size us up’ and see if this position could further your career.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual who can aggressively manage SEO projects thru to completion, working with YP.com’s internal matrixed group (product managers, engineers, design, QA, etc.). This person may also be responsible for managing external relationships with vendors, partners, etc.

Responsibilities for this position include:
· Project management of SEO projects for regular releases on YP.com
· Manage SEO Analytics to track results of SEO projects
· Advise web engineers on SEO implementation techniques
· Identify new SEO opportunities and work with Director of SEO to get onto roadmap
· Identify potential SEO partners and initiate negotiations with them

Qualifications essential for this position:
· Experience in driving organic search (SEO) traffic from search engines
· Experience in defining and writing product requirements documents/specs
· Excellent negotiation skills
· Problem-solving and analytical abilities

A plus if you have:
· Web analytics experience: Google Analytics, Omniture Discover
· Proven project management skills

What kind of questions do I have for you? A lot of them will be about your track record and how you’d apply your skills as well as SEO specifics.

Do you have a history of being an ‘owner and problem solver’?
Have you had experience in SEO? If so, please describe. (1+ years in online consumer facing would be great)
Do you have a good understanding of HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript?
Have you worked closely with technology teams and do you have hands-on execution skills such as creating wireframes, functional specs, process/user flows, etc.?

This position is perfect for the ambitious individual that has superior interpersonal, teamwork, collaborations skills, and is looking to increase their SEO knowledge and experience. We offer a very competitive salary, great benefits, flexible hours, and ‘eye opening’, interesting work. All in a startup-like environment (but better because we are profitable on our own and are a wholly owned subsidiary of AT&T). So, if you’re qualified and interested – let’s talk.
