No problem Wingnut. One thought – it might be cool to dribble a little info about the profile out to give people something to go on.

Well the hope is that social media has a reach that eventually someone will know who he is. He is truly a random pick, don’t know him or know anyone that knows him.

We may up the $amount if he isn’t found within a month. See if that gets anyone excited. We were thinking about dropping some hints but really wanted to see how powerful social media can be rather than making it a scavenger hunt right away… But there are plans for those in the future 🙂

Also, sorry about the really long link URL.

No worries. Gives the site a homey kind of look.

Very cleaver, wish I’d thought of it.

We will have to use a similar technique for our business, ViralMoneyList…

People love a mystery so why not put it to good use like that Guy…

    Cudos

great idea, but not very good delivery. The original video has less than 1,000 views… But if they hyped it up a bit more, it could definitely catch some steam… also, it could have turned into a great linkbait idea, (and it still is), but they’re going to get alot less links since they are asking people to link directly to youtube. Again, great idea, but the delivery needs work.

I agree Justin. I think I had such a positive reaction to the initial conceit so I posted this quickly, but I think they could have improved on the execution.

I was just rereading this “Best Viral Idea…” post and on further reflection, while I still love the idea, this is definitely not the best viral idea in terms of how much traffic it could generate. I think what got me excited about it was how original and fun the idea was. It made me think for a second about what it would take for the message to get to the guy.
