TurnHere has already made a name for itself in the industry as the purveyors of online video for small businesses.  Something must be in the air because I just got pinged by Steve Espinosa about Buzzspot.net a new service that provides affordable TV advertising to small and medium-sized businesses.  Buzzspot is basically a reseller of Google TV, a Spotrunner-like service that allows you to make media buys on local TV via the Web.  Over the past month I have been pitched a number of online video advertising companies and it will be interesting to see how these services compete with standard SEM companies.  My guess is that more and more SEM companies are going to have to figure out how to make video a component of their offering.  I think the main challenge with SMB video is going to be finding the right audience, measuring performance and churn.  No different from any other medium I suppose.  Should be fun to watch.

Don’t forget Buzzspot.net provides free commercials, unlike their competitors 😉

Update: Buzzspot.net domain is now for sale. Spotrunner’s 800 numbers are both disconnected. I contacted Google TV, twice, and did not hear back after 3 weeks. I went with the dot-com Cheap-TV-Spots because they got back to me right away. Most so-called free services are not really free, and disappear in a short period of time.
