As predicted by my analysis of backlinks to presidential candidate’s websites, Google’s algorithm called it right in Iowa for the top three Democrats. But it totally blew it on the Republican side. According to Google’s backlink counts it should have been 1. Paul 2. Huckabee 3. Giuliani.
Looks like it’s time for Google to get some Republicans working on the algo. There may be some looking for work soon. ![]()

I am not entirely sure, but I bet the boys at Goog are not right leaning. Although, considering their love of Big Business, I might be wrong.

Yeah I am figuring the goog guys are lefties all the way. Andrew I am suprised how right on your analysis was; I wrote a small post covering your analysis and maybe why the Ron Paul numbers were off. Keep the great posts coming.

There’s actually a good number of libertarians and Ron Paul supporters at Google. I think that the problem with their backlink analysis has more to do with who is popular online vs. offline.
We’re still a ways off from the day when web popularity is the same as real popularity.

Offline? Where’s that?
