Google Mapspam - Nutritious & Delicious

I am thinking Google must be pretty sensitive to people spamming Google Maps.

Earlier this week I posted about how SEO Champion had created fake addresses to show up for local searches for SEO in Pleasanton, CA and the surrounding areas. Mike Blumenthal followed up with his own mapspam investigation and found these guys were spamming on a national scale. But now if you do any of these searches you will find that SEOChampion is nowhere to be found, except at their own address, which is as it should be.

Chalk one up for the Pleasanton internet marketing anti-mapspam movement.

That is awesome. I am also noticing listings getting updated MUCH more frequently these days. Pretty soon, Google’s actually going to have a good local index! Hurray!!

Another case solved by Local SEO.

That’s really something, Andrew. Google is watching.
